Aisha is a Nigerian Independent child, born 1st October 1960 in Kaura-Namoda, Zamfara State. Started her business career in the family business, while still pursuing her higher education. She runs BIBI’S as a sole- proprietor, concentrating on importation of greeting cards, souvenirs, household and gift items.
She was appointed Financial Secretary, EMPRETEC-NIGERIA (Kano Chapter) a UNDP Alumni Business Forum since 1993 till date. GEMS3 (DFID) Trained Women Economic Empowerment/Access to Finance facilitator (Certificate holder). Held the positions of Deputy Treasurer and Vice-President respectively as Council member of Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines & Agriculture between
2004 to 2011. Chairperson, Membership committee 2007 to 2011, Deputy Chair, Trade-fair committee 2006 to 2011. Vice-Chair, Monitoring and Evaluation. Lead two Trade Missions to China 2007 and 2009.
Planned and organised the 1st and 2nd West African Trade-Fair in Kano 2008 and 2009. Lead NFNVNIGERIA Women Enterpreneurs to participate and exhibit at the Cairo Congress 2015. She is an Alumni of Leap Africa (Class 93). She is a three term Mentor for YOUWIN program, 2012 to 2013, 2013 to 2014, 2014 to 2015(Youth Enterprise with Innovation in Nigeria).
She is a Tony Elumelu Entrepreneurship Mentor 2015/ 2016/2017/2018. Aishatu is the MD/CEO, BIBI NIGERIA ENTERPRISES, Director, SANAHA NIGERIA COMPANY and Executive Director, BOVARA LIMITED. Our popcorn kernels “BIBIS READY TO POP POP-CORN KERNELS” was nominated “BEST POPCORN KERNEL OF THE YEAR 2016”, (African Product Awards ‘Lagos’ 2016) by the Institute for Government Research Leadership Technology. Just diversified into production of coconut and sesame oil.
As NFNV-NIGERIA Country Director, she initiated the Chapter’s flagship project “RAISING VOICES FOR WOMEN CROSS BORDER TRADERS IN WEST AFRICA” 1st Phase supported by UKAID and the 2nd Phase supported by UPS which birthed WEST AFRICAN WOMEN CROSS BORDER TRADERS ASSOCIATION (AFOACT) in 2018.
Aishatu received The GRACA MACHEL TRUST Impact Award in Maputo, Mozambique December, 2017. And in 2021, she received the prestigious Aminu Kano Excellence Award (AKEA).
